Lemon Basil Seed Water
Have you ever heard of Lemon and Basil Seed mixed in water? Let us list some of the benefits we get from it:
Hydration: Water is the main benefit, especially in hot weather.
Fiber: Basil seeds are rich in fiber, which may help with bowel regularity and fullness.
Vitamin C: Lemon provides vitamin C and antioxidants.
May help with appetite control: The fiber and gel-like texture of soaked basil seeds can make you feel fuller.
Refreshing and low-calorie: If you don't add sugar, it's generally a low-calorie drink.
What do I need to prepare?
1/2 tbs Basil seed
1 Lemon
500ml water
May add pinch of salt and honey
How to prepare?
Soak basil seed in water for 5-7 minutes
Drain
Add squeezed lemon and water
Add salt and honey
It’s important to soak basil seeds (sabja seeds) before eating them mainly because they absorb water and swell into a gel-like coating.
Easier and safer to swallow: Dry seeds can swell after swallowing and may be difficult topass, creating a choking risk, especially if taken with little water.
Better digestion: Soaking softens the seeds and makes their fiber easier to tolerate.
Helps with hydration: The soaked seeds hold water, adding fluid to the drink.
Reduces discomfort: Eating a large amount of dry seeds may cause bloating or constipation in some people.
Remember to drink enough water!
